Sanderling offers a unique opportunity as a bird sanctuary here in the Outer Banks.
Our community provides 4 Beach Access Walkovers for daily beach activities. Our beaches are very dog friendly. During the summer season you may also see turtle nests along the beach.
Behind the “Sanderling” entrance sign is a nature path that leads to a dock for launching a kayak, canoe or SUP on to the Currituck Sound. You may also bring along a fishing pole. You’ll see a variety of native bird species, seasonal nesting ospreys as well as magnificent sunsets. Sanderling is truly a sound to sea community.
Sanderling also has a series of nature paths that meander throughout our community where you may walk, bird watch and observe the beautiful landscape that is uniquely Sanderling.
